Jerusalem Artichoke

Jerusalem artichokes, also known as sunchokes, are dietary prebiotics. Prebiotics are compounds in food that stimulate the growth of friendly bacteria in the gut. Hence, they are an excellent food options to improve blockage and other constipation symptoms. Research has shown that Jerusalem artichokes increase the number of friendly bacteria in the gut, and protects against the growth of harmful bacteria. This plant promotes regular and easy bowel movements.
A recent study showed that persons who eat artichokes every day for three weeks have greater numbers of friendly gut bacteria (Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli Bacteria). Also, the levels of dangerous bacteria had significantly reduced. Jerusalem artichoke can be cooked in any manner of preference. It can be enjoyed plain or with sauce.
