As your Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD), you may start to find it difficult to breathe. You may also experience anxiety [5] and other symptoms related to breathing difficulties. It is important to treat anxiety symptoms as they help reduce the pain that accompanies shortness of breath. Your doctor may prescribe anti-anxiety drugs, called anxiolytics to help relieve anxiety symptoms and allow you to breathe more comfortably.
