10 Home Remedies for Dehydration

Buttermilk

Buttermilk is a fermented dairy drink. It used to be known as the residue from making butter out of sour raw milk. This drink is over 90 percent water [7]. It is excellent, not just for quenching thirst, but for treating dehydration. This milk is loaded with electrolytes, especially magnesium and potassium, which can help combat dehydration and maintain a good water balance.

Mix one cup of fresh buttermilk with half a teaspoon of dry ginger powder. You can use black salt to enhance the taste. Take up to three cups a day [8] to treat dehydration. It can be consumed by itself or as part of a larger meal. Buttermilk is also safe for babies over six months old.
