Cold or warm compresses

People often use warm compresses or ice packs or warm compresses such as a damp washcloth or a heating pad or damp washcloth, to reduce pain. In fact, warm compresses are the most common home remedy for ear infections [2]. It is safe for both adults and children.
You can place the ice pack or warm compress over your ear and switch between warm and cold after 10 minutes. If you want either warm or cold, you can use just one compress.
Garlic
Studies show that garlic has both anti-biotic [3] and pain-relieving properties. You can soak crushed garlic for several minutes in warm olive or sesame oil. Squeeze the garlic out and apply the oil to the outer ear canal.
