Ginger & Garlic

Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties which can be beneficial in alleviating the pain of an ear infection. Ginger extracts can be used topically in the outer ear canal but never directly inside the ear.
Garlic is a component of many traditional remedies due to its pain relieving properties. Garlic also has antimicrobial and antiviral properties which may be useful in preventing ear infections. Garlic may be used as a remedy for ear pain in a number of ways. It can be taken orally daily or extracts can be applied in the ear as ear drops. Garlic oil is prepared by cooking two or three garlic cloves in mustard oil. The resulting mixture is then sieved for the oil.
