Avoid Cotton Swab and Use a Warm Compress

Everyone should refrain from cleaning their ears with commercial cotton earbuds. This is due to the fact that cotton buds, or any other tool, can injure the ears and cause the ear wax to become lodged even deeper. Pushing the wax deeper might harm the ears and result in long-term ear troubles or injury.
Warm compress [5] is not done directly on the ears. It is a method to extract mucus from the passage to clear the nasal and ear blockage. This mostly happens in the case of sinus or cold. Follow these steps to perform warm compress:
- Boil water and pour it in a clean bowl.
- Then soak a clean cloth inside the bowl or use a towel.
- Squeeze out excess water from the cloth.
- Put in on your ear that feels clogged for 10 minutes or till the time you feel the heat has become low.
- Repeat this 4-5 times to get relief from mucus.
- Clean your ears with a dry cloth after this.
