According to some claims, apples may be a vital part of gout-reducing diets. They seem to derive the claim due to malic acid in apples, which reduces uric acid levels in the blood. In the meantime, there are no direct studies that point rules out its use for gout. Besides, apples contain fructose, which may lead to gout problems. Generally, consuming an apple per day improves the overall health of the body. There may be benefits of this fruit for treating gout, but excessive consumption is not advisable due to sugar content.
