Swelling in the Face

Sinus headaches occur due to sinusitis [5], which occurs when there’s an inflammation of the nasal passages and sinuses. The medical condition may result in swelling and tenderness around the nose and eyes.

Note that swelling in the face may be a sign of several other conditions like angioedema, actinomycosis, or conventional allergic conjunctivitis. In angioedema, the individual experienced a swelling beneath the skin’s surface that is accompanied by hives and itching. Actinomycosis is a medical condition that causes sores, abscesses and also causes swelling in the face.

Swelling in the face may be a significant medical emergency due to difficulty breathing or swallowing, hives or rash, anxiety and confusion, and nasal congestion. It’s essential to consult a doctor when feeling any of the symptoms of sinus headaches.

If an individual feels pressure or pain around the sinuses, it’s essential to avoid jumping to conclusions that they have a sinus headache. Ensure that you review the symptoms carefully and consult a medical practitioner.
