Symptoms of heart failure
One of the primary signs of heart failure is breathing difficulties. Your lungs have to work harder to take in more oxygen when your body isn’t receiving enough oxygen-rich blood from your heart.
Also, the symptoms of the various forms of heart failure can vary. The following are other signs of left-sided heart failure:
- tiredness or a sensation of weakness
- coughing difficulties with breathing attention issues
- bluish lips or fingernails
- lying down and not being able to sleep
Other signs of right-sided heart failure can be, in addition to shortness of breath:
- appetite loss
- stomach ache
- nausea [6]
- unexplained weight gain
- swelling in the lower limbs or abdomen
- a lot of urine
Both right- and left-sided symptoms might be present in those who have biventricular heart failure.
