Low Blood Pressure Symptoms

Shock

Shock is a life-threatening condition where low blood pressure that has persisted for a long time, leading to multiple organ failure. [4] The vital organs that are at risk of failure include the kidney, liver, heart, lung, and brain. If the blood pressure drops to a dangerously low point, the body’s vital organs begin to lack adequate oxygen and nutrients. When this happens, hypotension may lead to shock, which requires immediate medical attention. Signs of shock include breaking out in cold sweats, abnormally fast breathing, blue or dark skin, and, a weak or rapid pulse. If immediate medical care isn’t provided for shock, it may lead to death.
