Signs And Symptoms of Hemorrhoid

Pain or discomfort – painful bowel movements

Pain is a common symptom [4] of this condition, but not all types of piles cause pain. Typically, hemorrhoid makes it difficult to pass bowel movements, and may result in pain and irritation. There are two general types of hemorrhoids; internal and external, and the latter is known to cause intense pain more than the former. Asides from the two main types, there is a condition called prolapsed hemorrhoid, which is when swollen lumps bulge out from the anus. These bumps may cause intense pain or burning. Frequent itching of the anus will worsen the irritation and may cause bruises on the sensitive skin surrounding the anus, resulting in pain.

When the blood supply to an internal hemorrhoid is cut off, hemorrhoid may be strangulated. It occurs when a prolapsed hemorrhoid gets trapped in the anal muscles. This condition may cause blood to pool (blood clots) and can be extremely painful.
