Limit Intake of Alcohol

Alcohol in small quantities may have health benefits. For instance, a glass of red wine may have health benefits when taken moderately. However, drinking high amounts of alcohol has lots of disadvantages to overall well-being.
It causes an increase in blood pressure, which is dangerous. Moreover, the intake of alcohol can lower the effectiveness of some medications for hypertension. The AHA recommends drinking only an alcohol beverage daily, which equals five ounces of wine, one and a half ounces of 80-proof liquor, and twelve ounces of beer.
