Complications

The complication associated with aspergillosis depends on the type that is present. Example of such complications are:
Systemic infection
The most severe complication of invasive aspergillosis is the spread of infection to other parts of the body especially the brain, kidneys and heart. Invasive aspergillosis spreads rapidly and is very fatal. It is important that it is diagnosed early to avoid spread to other organs.
Bleeding
Aspergillomas and invasive aspergillosis if left unattended to for a long time can lead to severe and fatal bleeding of the lungs.
