Agoraphobia & Panic

Agoraphobia [4] is most obvious during the later years, the adolescent and young adult stages. Agoraphobia is a condition that causes a person to have excessive worry or fear about being in situations like crowds, where they are unable to escape or get help, resulting in panic-like symptoms.
Panic generally surfaces during the later years, such as adolescence and young adulthood. Symptoms include:
- Racing heart
- Extreme discomfort or fear of certain places or situations
- Shortness of breath
Many of these symptoms of anxiety also occur in adults, it is how they express their fear and worry that is different. Adults are often able to verbalize and explain how they are feeling.
Kids, especially younger ones, may exhibit their anxiety through negative behavior like temper tantrums or other physical symptoms.
