Antidepressants

In some cases, antidepressants are used to control depression. Antidepressants are known to trigger a manic episode; therefore, they are usually prescribed together with a mood stabilizer or antipsychotic.
Antidepressants-antipsychotic
Doctors prescribe a drug called symbyax [5] that joins the antidepressant fluoxetine and the antipsychotic olanzapine. It functions as a depression treatment and a mood stabilizer.
Anti-anxiety medications
Benzodiazepines are used to treat anxiety [6] and improve sleep but must be used on a short-term basis.
Finding the right medication
The process of finding the right drug or drugs for a patient will likely require some trial and error. If a drug doesn’t show results, there are other drugs to try. A lot of patience is needed because some drugs need week’s months to take full effect.
In most cases, only one medication is changed, this allows the doctor to identify which drugs are vital to relieving your symptom with no severe side effects. Drugs are also adjusted as the symptoms change.
