Essential Tremor: Symptoms, Causes, Diagnosis, and Treatments

Causes of Essential Tremor

Alcoholism, an overactive thyroid [1], and strokes [2] are all potential tremor-causing factors. Additionally, they may be brought on by a number of neurological diseases. These tremors aren’t classified as essential tremors, though. There is no recognized reason for essential tremor. The syndrome has no known definite genetic or environmental causes, and no cellular abnormality has been attributed to it.

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) [3] claims that new evidence points to a possible connection between changes in specific brain regions and the onset of essential tremor. Research is still being done, much like with most medical conditions.
