Categories of tremors

Parkinson’s tremor can be divided into 20 categories. The most common categories are:
- Essential tremors: Essential tremor is a type of action tremor that occurs on both sides of the body. In most cases, it is more recognizable in the dominant limb.
- Dystonic tremors: irregular and involuntary movements that happen when your brain sends abnormal signals to specific muscles in your body.
- Cerebellar tremor: This is a slow-moving action tremor that happens when you take a purposeful movement. It has similar characters with an intentional tremor
- Parkinsonian tremor: Parkinsonian tremor mainly occurs in one or both hands. It can also affect other parts of the body. It spreads to the two sides of your body and moves into an action tremor.
Conclusion
People diagnosed with Parkinson’s usually experience tremors. The frequency, severity, location, and size of tremors may differ for everyone. Your healthcare provider may prescribe Parkinson’s medication to treat the condition. It would help to speak with a doctor to learn how to manage the tremors and to provide more treatment if your symptoms worsen over time.
