It weakens the bones abnormally and can lead to pain, fracture, and reduces the quality of life. This disease causes bones to become brittle and so weak that a fall or stress even coughing or bending can lead to fracture. Fractures that occur because of OST usually develop in the wrist, spine, and hip.
Bone is a living tissue that is constantly being broken down and replaced at a young age. OST occurs when the making of new and fresh bone doesn’t match with the level of bone loss.
