Warning Signs of Pancreatitis

Pancreatitis is a condition that causes the inflammation of the pancreas, which is an organ that is located in the abdomen. The function of the pancreas is to create pancreatic juice or enzymes during digestion. Released enzymes are responsible for breaking down sugars, starches, and fats. There are two specific types of pancreatitis that individuals may experience. One of them is acute pancreatitis [1] that comes and goes quickly, and the other is a chronic one, which stays for a long time. There are several warning signs of pancreatitis that individuals should follow. One of the most significant symptoms of this condition is the severe abdominal pain involved. There are many warning signs of pancreatitis. Here are some of the significant ones:

Abdominal Pain

Many people with pancreatitis may experience consistent pain in the belly’s upper part that radiates to the back. The pain that is felt in that region of the body can be relatively disabling. Generally, there are several causes of abdominal pain. In women, cramps related to menstruation are potential sources of lower abdominal pain, commonly known as pelvic pain. There are several other causes of abdominal pain. Constipation, diarrhea, gastroenteritis, acid reflux, vomiting, and stress are significant causes of this pain. Diseases that affect the digestive system can lead to chronic abdominal pain. Some of the most common diseases that may result in abdominal pain include irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease, lactose intolerance, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. If the abdominal pain is severe, it could be due to kidney stones, kidney infection, or gallstones.
