Triggers
While not technically causes of psoriasis, certain situations cause your psoriasis to flare up. These triggers differ from person to person. Here are some common psoriasis triggers:
Stress
Stress is one of the most common triggers of psoriasis. Stress can be difficult to define. It describes a situation that puts a strain on you, often both physically and mentally. Its relationship with psoriasis is even slightly more complicated. Stressful situations can cause your psoriasis to flare up. On the other hand, a flare of psoriasis can cause stress. According to the National Psoriasis Foundation [3], learning and implementing stress management and relaxation techniques can help reduce incidences of psoriasis resulting from stress.
