How Long Should People with Candida Auris Be Isolated?

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention suggests that private rooms should be allocated to people with Candida Auris infection. In cases where there are no private rooms, the CDC recommends sharing rooms with people with Candida Auris or other similar drug-resistant infection. The room should be cleaned regularly by professional cleaners. Professional cleaners are also advised to take safety precautions when cleaning the room.
According to the CDC, people with Candida Auris should stay in isolation for as long as they are receiving treatment. Isolation should always be in a healthcare facility. For people who live in a healthcare facility or a similar medical environment, isolation should be indefinite.
