Dry Skin – Causes, Signs and Remedies

Dehydration, Diabetes (type 2) and Other Skin Conditions

A diabetic can experience frequent dehydration caused by high blood sugar levels. High blood sugar levels rid the dermis of moisture and can inhibit the circulation of body fluids. Frequent thirst and exhaustion is a common symptom of type 2 diabetes.

People with certain skin conditions can experience worse symptoms of xerosis. Atopic dermatitis eczema or psoriasis are prone to xerosis, and these conditions worsen the symptom of xeroderma.
