Rubbing alcohol

Rubbing alcohol [11] is strictly for external use. It is poisonous when consumed orally. Applying this alcohol over your jock itch will kill some of the fungi causing the infection. It will burn when you apply it, but the price is worth the cure. Make sure you have not over-scratched the area and left cracks in your skin, otherwise the burn will be more intense.

Dip a ball of cotton wool in a solution of rubbing alcohol and rub it over your skin. Leave the alcohol to dry by itself instead of wiping it off. You can repeat this several times a day during your treatment.
