Overview
Keratosis follicularis, also referred to as Darier disease, is a rare, genetic skin condition. People with the condition get hardened, rough bumps on their skin called papules or plaques, which can also be oily or have a crust that is brown or yellow. These scaly, crusty sores may progressively enlarge or spread. For the majority of patients, mucous membranes and nails are also impacted. While there may be times when an individual’s symptoms get better (remission), the lesions typically return (relapse). The particular issues differ from person to person. The inheritance pattern for Keratosis Follicularis is autosomal dominant.
