What Causes Insomnia?

Environmental Factors

Some people may have difficulty sleeping immediately after moving or relocating to a new environment [4]. Temporary environmental changes like going on a trip may also affect some people’s ability to fall asleep. Extreme temperatures like when the room is too hot or too cold may affect one’s night rest. A cool room temperature makes it easy to fall asleep and encourages quality resting hours.

Uncomfortable beds, pillows, or bedclothes may also affect one’s sleep quality. Hard mattresses or itchy beddings may make it difficult to fall or stay asleep. Uncomfortable bed materials may also cause the person to wake up with body pains.

Noise may also affect your sleep quality. Some people find it difficult to sleep in loud places, while some don’t mind. Lighting is another factor that can affect sleep because some prefer sleeping in darkness for better sleep quality.
