Preventing Intestinal Gas

There are certain lifestyle adjustments that can help prevent excessive intestinal gas. Note that most foods containing carbohydrates can cause gas. A good diary can help you determine which foods make you gassy. But do not cut out too many things to avoid imbalance. Many vegetables, dairy products, fruits, wheat products and beans cause gas, but they are also highly nutritious.
To reduce your body’s gas production, you can:
- Reduce your intake of carbonated beverages, hand candies and chewing gum.
- Chew slowly and don’t talk while eating.
- Use a straw to drink your liquids.
- Stop smoking.
- Limit certain sugars, including sucrose, fructose, sorbitol and raffinose.
