Symptoms of Hashimoto’s Disease (Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis)

Joint and Muscle Pain

Joint and muscle pain is another primary symptom of Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. This refers to the pain and inflammation felt in the body’s soft tissue. The feeling of muscle pain is usually quickly assumed to result from straining the muscle, ignoring that it is also a symptom of hypothyroidism. When the production of thyroxine hormone in the body is less, and there is a hypothyroid dysfunction, it can lead to pain in the joints, muscle stiffness, muscle aches, muscle tenderness, and cramps. The joint and muscle pain is mainly experienced in the hips and shoulder.
