Cases of psoriasis in children

According to the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) [4], psoriasis is quite common in children. An estimation of 20,000 children under the age of 10 years is diagnosed with psoriasis each year in the United States.
People mostly experience their first episode of psoriasis between ages 15 and 35 years old, but it can develop in children much younger than older adults. NPF also identified that about one-third of adult patients say their symptoms started when they were 20 years old.
In some cases, psoriasis symptoms may become less severe and frequent as children grow older. The condition may also last throughout their lives.
