When Do Babies See Color?

Conclusion

Babies are born with a partially developed visual ability. They find it difficult to perceive colors during the first few months of life. As they grow, their perception of colors becomes better and they become less sensitive to light.

The first color they perceive is the red color after the first few weeks. They perceive a wider range of colors when they are five months old. At this age, the vision is still not developed like that of an adult. As your child grows, provide colorful toys for them.

If your child is unable to perceive colors, they become color blind. As a parent, you might not notice this early due to lack of communication. This condition becomes obvious as they get older as they find it difficult to identify colors. There is no cure for this condition.

Take your child to the optician regularly for checkups to ensure that they have a proper visual development.
