What are the legal procedures for egg donors?

The legal processes donors go through are different in every country. For example, there is no law against egg donation in the United States. However, donors must legally agree to have no responsibility for any resulting embryos or children. The egg recipient may not be biologically related to the child but will be the legal mother.
Is the identity of the donor protected?
Most hospitals in the United States protect the identity of a donor. Sometimes, the recipient will learn vital information about the donor but will not physically meet. However, some hospitals may allow the donor and recipient to meet if they want to. Sometimes, the donor may be entitled to meet the child after some years.
If the recipient and donor are friends or related, the fertility centre will require physical meetings to discuss the extraction process, treatment, and screening matters.
