EMF Exposure – What You Need to Know

Treatment and Precautions to Follow

Radiation exposures can be treated and recovery begins to occur within weeks to about 2 years. Observation of any of the above symptoms should be reported to medical personnel immediately. The treatment given or the prescribed drugs depend on the extent and nature of the exposure.

The most common form of treatment given by doctors is to keep the patients hydrated. In cases of burns, they are also treated accordingly. Some special cases also require surgical operations or transplants.

The type of precautions to take depends on the type of radiation you are exposed to. Some of these precautions involve:

  • Use of Earbuds and speakers: Earphones reduce the radiation level from phones. It also emits fields but it is lesser than that of the phone and hence reduces exposure to the head.
  • Avoid lingering around appliances: to avoid EMF exposure, keep your distance from appliances. When going in contact with home appliances, try to keep the contacts quick and short and do not sit beside them too. Make sure your children don’t stay too close to these appliances such as refrigerators and television.
  • Reduce your time in the sun: the sun is good for your health but must not be too much. Avoid staying in the sun when the rays are at their strongest. Make sure to also use sunscreen when going for a long time under the sun and wear clothes that cover the body properly.
  • Occasionally unplug electronic devices: when not in use, try to always take breaks from appliances. Try not to make use of them for a day or two.
  • Put your phones down: when they are not in use, try to keep your phones far away from you. When it is time to sleep, try to also keep the phones miles away from yourself.
  • Limit x-rays: x-rays should only be used when medically necessary and unavoidable.
  • Limit tanning: to reduce exposure, make sure to use less time under the lights when tanning.
  • Avoid carrying phones in your pocket.
  • Proper checkups: keep all appointments with the doctor and make sure to check your EMF exposure regularly. If you are placed on medication, make sure to use it accordingly.
