Severe side effects
Severe side effects from Jardiance are less common than mild side effects. It would help to visit the hospital immediately if you notice any severe side effects. You can also call 911 if your symptoms are life-threatening.
Some severe side effects include:
- Hypotension (low blood pressure). Its symptoms include depression, loss of consciousness, clammy skin, lightheadedness, falling asleep when standing or always feeling fizzy.
- Kidney damage. Its Symptoms are confusion, weakness, cholesterol levels, swelling in ankles and legs, decreased urination, and increased low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels
Other severe side effects include:
- Serious urinary tract infections (including urosepsis and pyelonephritis)
- Ketoacidosis (buildup of ketones in the body, causing your blood to be too acidic) [1]
- Genital yeast infections (in women and men) [2]
- Fournier’s gangrene (severe infection near the genitals) [3]
