Coping with Loneliness When Your Spouse Has ADHD

How Can ADHD Impact a Co-Parenting Arrangement?

There hasn’t been much study on how coparenting can be impacted by ADHD. Though the reasons aren’t totally obvious, the scant research that does exist [4] on heterosexual couples tends to indicate that women with ADHD are less likely than fathers to have a detrimental effect on a coparenting relationship.

Typically, ADHD can significantly exacerbate inequalities in caregiving and parental responsibilities, such as assisting with homework, cooking, and cleaning. The partner without ADHD may feel lonely as a result of this one-sidedness of the relationship, and it may occasionally have an impact on the family’s children.
