Aortic Aneurysm: Symptoms & Treatment

Thoracic aortic aneurysms

According to the American Heart Association [4], symptoms of this type may include:

  • Pain in the chest or upper back
  • Rapid heart rate
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Neck swelling
  • Wheezing
  • Hoarseness of voice
  • Sweaty skin

Many people with unruptured thoracic aneurysms may not experience these symptoms at all. If these symptoms suddenly appear, call 911 if you suspect your aneurysm has ruptured. Prompt medical care is critical for survival.
