What Are the Symptoms of Coronary Artery Disease?

You may experience a variety of symptoms if your heart does not get enough arterial blood. Angina, also known as chest discomfort, is the most common symptom of coronary artery disease.
In some cases, this comfort is often described as:
- Heaviness
- Tightness
- Chest pain
- Burning
- Squeezing
These symptoms can also be mistaken for heartburn or indigestion.
You may also experience the following symptoms of coronary artery disease:
- Pain in the arms or shoulders
- Shortness of breath
- Sweating
- Dizziness
You may experience more severe symptoms when the blood flow to your heart is more restricted. If a plaque or fat deposit cuts off blood flow completely or almost completely, your heart muscle will start to degenerate due to inadequate blood supply. This results in heart attack. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice any symptoms of the condition, especially if they persist for more than five minutes or worsen over time. Urgent medical treatment is required to prevent any medical complication, or death.
