Causes of cardiac asthma

Heart failure is the root cause of cardiac asthma. Coronary artery disease is the most frequent reason for heart failure in adults. Coronary artery disease [1] occurs when the blood-supplying arteries to the heart narrow or get blocked, rendering them unable to transport blood and even closing entirely as a result of a heart attack. Atherosclerosis, or the accumulation of cholesterol and plaque in the blood arteries, is typically the culprit.
Heart failure may also be brought on by or exacerbated by the following conditions:
- previous heart attacks
- abnormal and uncontrolled heartbeat
- High blood pressure
- cardiac valve issues
- cardiomyopathy [2]
- hyperthyroidism [3]
- myocarditis
- congenital abnormalities in the heart, diabetes [4], and severe lung disease
- obesity [5]
- renal failure
- extreme anemia
- Sleep apnea [6]
