Problems Processing Physical Sensations

Many people with autism have sensory difficulties. In most cases, they cannot tolerate certain noises, tastes, smells, or feelings. Noisy public places can cause emotional distress, as can uncomfortable clothing or unwanted touches. These concerns can be disruptive and stressful, but according to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders [2] and Stroke [3], autism manifestations can improve after a while as children with mild autism learn to control their own behavior through work with professionals.
