10 Possible Causes of Groin Pain

Prostatitis

The prostate is a walnut-sized gland that is located beneath the bladder and in front of the rectum. An infection called prostatitis results in pain and swelling there. It’s also connected to UTIs because of how close it is to the urinary system.

There are various forms of prostatitis, but Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome (CPPS) [4] is the most prevalent. The perineum (the region between the scrotum and the rectum), the pelvis, and the genitalia all experience persistent agony.

UTIs should be treated as soon as possible to stop any infection from spreading to the prostate. Consult a doctor right away if sitting causes perineum pain. Additionally, early treatment stops it from developing into chronic pelvic pain syndrome.
