Pelvic Fracture

A pelvic fracture occurs when there is a break in any section of the pelvic bone, typically caused by high-energy trauma. It causes severe pain that you are likely to feel even when you sit or lie down. In its most severe forms, this injury can result in a disability that will last a lifetime and perhaps endanger your life.
Pelvic fracture is more common in young men, especially those that participate in sports. However, falls are typically to blame for shattered hips in the elderly.
The primary symptom is a discomfort in the groin, hip, or lower back that gets worse as you move your legs. If the tendons, ligaments, muscles, and soft tissues that support the hip joint are injured, you might also feel pain.
