Sciatica

The sciatic nerve starts from the spinal cord, and passes across your hips and buttocks, to then branch down your legs. This Nerve is the longest and one of the most important nerves in the body. It has a direct influence on your capacity to control your legs and to feel them. You will feel Sciatica when this nerve is irritated.
Sciatica is a pain in your buttocks, back, and legs that can manifest as mild to extreme pain. Sensations of numbness and weakness can also be present.
Sciatica is often caused by underlying damage to the nerve, such as the vertebrae, in the back, compressing the nerve. A herniated disc can also cause sciatica if the disc pushes on the sciatic nerve. The spine is connected to the legs by the sciatic nerve. As a consequence, sciatica can cause pain in the legs and feet. Normally, this sensation feels like burning, needles, or prickly feelings. [10]
