Brucellosis

Brucellosis is a form of bacteria that can be transmitted via contact with an infected animal or their by products, like unpasteurized dairy products. These bacteria may result in infection and cause an inflammatory response known as brucellosis. Brucellosis mostly affects the lower spine, including the sacroiliac joint. Symptoms that accompany this condition include buttock pain, back pain, pain at the side of the abdomen ( flank area), malaise, and fever.
Falls
Falls can cause significant trauma to the sacroiliac joint, resulting in pain and inflammation. According to studies, traumatic fall is the leading cause of sacroiliitis in elderly people.
Pregnancy
The level of certain hormones in the body may reduce or increase during pregnancy. These hormonal changes may cause the ligaments around the sacroiliac joints to relax and weaken, which may lead to joint inflammation and instability.
