8 Common Causes of Shoulder Pain

Shoulder Dislocation

Shoulder dislocation [5] is an injury in which the shoulder bone joint moves from its natural position, usually due to accidents such as falls, bumps in sports such as basketball or volleyball or by incorrectly lifting a heavy object in the gym, for example.

This dislocation of the shoulder can occur in several directions, forward, backward or downward, and completely or partially, causing severe pain or difficulty in moving the arm.

How does it feel: Symptoms of a dislocation occur at the time of the shoulder injury and may include severe pain in the shoulder, which can radiate to the arm and affect the neck, one shoulder may be higher or lower in relation to the other, inability to perform movements with the affected arm; and swelling in the shoulder. In addition, shoulder dislocation can cause weakness, numbness, or tingling sensation near the injury, e.g. in the arm or neck.

How to threat: Shoulder dislocation should be treated by an orthopedist who recommends treatment according to the severity of the dislocation, and can put the shoulder in place and indicate the use of medication, physiotherapy sessions or surgery, in the most severe cases.
