Periarticular or Referred Pains

The malaise [6] does not come from the shoulder but is felt in it. For example, the patient has a problem in the cervical region (neck), arthritis, and even herniated disc, but the painful sensation is in the shoulder; it can be a temporomandibular injury (TMJ), visceral pain (of the heart), and even metabolic, as in hormonal deficiencies.
How it feel: The pain is often a referred one due to pain from another source. It can be felt as a sharp pain in the shoulder joint.
How to treat: To treat this pain, one only need to treat the original source and underlying cause of the referred pain.
