Cervical Spondylosis: Symptoms, Causes, and Treatments

Bone Spurs

This is the overgrowing of a bone as a result of the body trying to grow extra bone to give more strength to the spine.

However, the extra bone can press and exert pressure on delicate areas of the spine, such as the nerves and spinal cord resulting in pain.

Dehydrated Spinal Discs

There are discs between your spinal bones, which are thick, padlike cushions that absorb the shock of lifting, twisting, and other activities. The gel-like material inside these discs can dry out over time. This causes friction between your bones (spinal vertebrae), which can be painful.

The drying up of the gell tends to happen as you grow older, usually in your 30s.
