This health condition is best examined by a medical doctor, firstly a physical examination is done to know the site of the swelling, and then the medical history of the individual is reviewed. This process is enough to know the major cause of edema. However, if the underlying cause is not clear, blood tests, urine analysis, magnetic resonance x-rays, and even ultrasound scans may help to identify the root of the problem.
