Gastrointestinal Issues

Studies show that a wide variety of gastrointestinal conditions can cause pain under the right rib cage. Some of these conditions include:
- Indigestion: Indigestion or an upset stomach causes discomfort in your abdomen
- Peptic ulcers: Peptic ulcers or gastric ulcers sores on the stomach lining caused by exposure to acids in the stomach
- Gastritis: Gastritis is the inflammation of your stomach lining and is often caused by infection
The pain that occurs due to these conditions is a dull, burning type of pain. Other symptoms of the condition include:
- A feeling of uncomfortable fullness
- Abdominal bloating
- Burping or gas
- Nausea or vomiting
Although most cases of indigestion and gastritis are mild and may leave on their own, it is important to contact your doctor immediately if your symptoms last for a long period. Your doctor may conduct various tests to confirm if you have a peptic ulcer.
