Shoulder Fracture and Broken Collarbone

The humerus (the bone that runs from the shoulder to the elbow), the collarbone, or the shoulder blade may all be involved in a shoulder fracture or broken bone condition. A common cause of broken bones or humerus is a car accident or a fall. Although it is more uncommon to fracture a shoulder blade, the condition can happen in a high-speed car accident.
The fracture you have will determine the symptoms you are likely to experience. Common symptoms include:
- Swelling
- stiffness
- bruising
- pain
When your collarbone (clavicle) breaks, you have a broken collarbone. Your shoulder and breastbone (sternum) are connected by your collarbone. Accidents involving cars or falls cause a lot of breakage.
