Heart disease is a general term for any condition that affects your heart or blood vessels. If you have AS, especially severe AS you are at a higher risk of developing heart disease than those without the condition. However, there are way to keep your heart healthy, some of which include:
-
- Eat a variety of fruits and vegetables.
- Aim for 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night.
- Keep your stress levels down.
- Try to stay active.
- Maintain a healthy weight.
- Know your cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels — when high, these increase your risk of heart disease.
