Tick Bites Symptoms

Headache, Sore Muscles and Joints

A severe headache may suggest a serious health complication caused by a tick bite. Meningitis is a mental condition and a health complication of an infected tick bite. It is a chronic condition where there is a swelling of the lining of the brain and spinal cord. This occurs at a much later stage of tick bite allergies, so it is best to begin treatment before it reaches the late stage where mental disorders occur.

Complications caused by this meningitis include difficulty concentrating, memory loss, and hearing loss. These symptoms may take up to several years to fully recover. Severe and recurring headaches are a common symptom of this mental disorder.

An infected tick bite can cause severe pain and swell in the joints. Studies have shown that up to sixty percent of patients suffering from Lyme disease (an infection transmitted by deer ticks) develop arthritis. Arthritis is the swelling of the joints, but symptoms often when antibiotic medications begin. In most patients, tick bite-induced arthritis disappears after thirty days of treatment with an oral antibiotic, such as doxycycline or amoxicillin.

The pain is usually recurring and may cause joints to stiffen, which restricts movement or limits your range of motion.
