Will Walking on a Torn Meniscus Make It Worse?

Types of Torn Meniscus

Kinds of torn meniscus can be grouped into two categories, they include:

Degenerative tear: Degenerative meniscal lesion is commonly referred to as a sign of early onset of osteoarthritis [4] for people older than 35 years.

Traumatic tear: This year is clinically referred to as longitudinal or vertical tear. They mostly occur in the red and red-white zones which are signals for repair or non- removal.

Red and red-white zones of the meniscus are grouped based on the amount of blood that gets to each zone. Red zones get adequate blood supply, therefore any tear in this zone may heal without surgery. Due to inadequate blood supply to the red-white zones, proper treatment or surgery is needed to treat any form of year.
